When the R.A.T pro X was announced back at CES, I was overly happy. Since I wanted to find out when it was hitting the store shelves, I tried to find something out, but so far I have found zero information apart from 'coming spring 2015'. It's fast approaching summer and i have not yet seen a hint from madcatz saying they are delaying the release of the product. Is it just me or is anyone else wondering what has happened to the R.A.T pro X? Any insight would be much appreciated.

Company's can drop a product if the interest in it is not as expected.

I don't know about this particular product, but a couple of things could have happened since.

- Law suit : Their product is in violation with some laws / Patents.

- Low interest : The public doesn't seem interested in the product, so production would not be profitable.

- Unexpected production problems : A very complicated and intricate production process would make the price for the consumer so high, that they don't see a future in the product.

That time I saved Linus' WiFi pass from appearing on YouTube:

Prefences aside I think it is a BEAST mouse when it comes to innovation, so i like it a lot, but i would see why one would not like its aesthetics.

It still poses the question, why would madcatz not come out with a statement to say that they are dropping or delaying the release of the product for one or more of those reasons?, and the product is still up on their site so i'm not sure why they would not just release it yet, are they making a surprise release? if so they are doing a fantastic job of it.

Too many normal R.A.T.s still on the Market.

Still, with the amount of innovation and advertising they put into the R.A.T. Pro X, they should not just ignore it until their other products are out of fashion. A release date is a release date my friend, and a statement should be released if it is prolonged for any reason.

That peripherals are getting released months later even when a release date is mentioned is nothing new, and a statement like "buy our old stuff then we release our new stuff" is contraproductive.

it's just another case of announcing products WAYYYYY too soon

LG34UM95 = over a year since it's "announcement"

ROG Swift? = good lord I lost count/interest

K70 RGB? = didn't even bother joining the hype

you get the idea

How?

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

I hope it comes out this month. Maybe just maybe Linus could review it? ;)

If it comes out this month (it would be great if i appears this year), i could wait a few months for the price to drop and then get it for my birthday. :D

...That's all if it gets released
