It's really fun, great voice acting and dialogue, amazing main story and even better setup for side quests. Side quests are really fun. The game's optimization is acceptable. You need a high end rig though. Yes it's worth it.

Love it. I read all the english translated books and played the first two games so I enjoy the setting. It crashes for me a lot but patches will fix that. the enviornment and trees and stuff remind me of Arma 3 personally.

You get a skill point for every level, and unlocked skills are put into an "active" slot so that when you have a lot, you can't have all at once. Weapons and armors can be crafted from diagrams you find or buy, you can buy them, or you can find them

ok, sweet, thanks, I'm a sucker for being able to craft your own items.

I love the game. It runs well at a steady 60FPS on ultra without hairworks. It looks nice and is really fun! The sidequests are my fav for some reason. This is my first witcher game and I am enjoying every second of it. I only crashed once random while looking in my inventory.

I think the voice actors are great but for me the voice sounds seem a bit funny. Its sounds too much like a recording to me, sort of immersion breaking. Dont know if im the only one who feels that way, i never had problems immersing into dialogues unless it was really poorly done. Here i know its done well but something about it is bothering me ... Hard to put into words. Maybe its the equipment they used that doesnt work well for my ears.

Gameplay wise, it suffers a lot from open-world syndrome.  A lot of the individual towns in the game don't have much character, serving just as areas with fast travel poles or rest stops to enhance your equipment, repair, etc.  However, character design is excellent, all of the voice acting is excellent, the facial animations are much better than 2, and side quests are actually completely and utterly optional, if you barrel through the countryside on your horse and don't stop at all, chances are you'll miss like 90% of the content.

Currently right now though it is suffering on AMD and non-Maxwell Nvidia cards...Probably the only other game other than Metro that has made me turn down things like draw distance.

I dunno, currently for me, Witcher 2 is a better game simply because it's more focused.  But there are some improvements in Witcher 3, and it is possible to just go down the main storylines, you'll just be severely underleveled, since the game doesn't level with you.   It's also really cool that if you're patient enough you can defeat any monster. Yesterday I beat a level 14 drake-thing at level 6.  Took like 20 minutes though.

I'm having a freakin blast with it so far but I'd be wary calling it an "open" world as you'll run to the edge of a map and your character will say something like "I need to get back to civilization" or something and it'll force you to fast travel or turn around.

The writing, the voice acting, the graphics are all pretty fantastic and I fucking LOVE that you can skip unnecessary videos in the beginning. No game starts up faster than this one. The controls are meh, muddy feeling.

I don't like how the main character turns like a giant car from the 50's without power steering. If you're trying to maneuver in tight corners expect to be turning around a few times to get the right angle on a doorway or corridor or something. I really wish games like this would adopt the control scheme from WOW. Turning on a dime may not be realistic but it controls soooo much better.

It's somewhat buggy, I've seen NPC's fall through the ground. I've seen horse tails without horses attached to them. I've gotten stuck on a LOT of geometry and with the terrible controls it's sometimes hard to get out.

Randomly during fights Geralt will forget that he's got a sword he can use and I'll end up punching the bad guys? Not sure what's going on there, he simply won't draw his sword or will wait until I've given the bad guy a good 2 or 3 punches before doing so.

The quests have a tendency to be very generic. If you've got say, 3 quest objectives to go talk to people expect that you'll be doing 3 side quests for that character before they'll let you complete your main quest objective.

"Oh, you need my help? Kill 12 boars first", "Oh, you have to find my goat, it ran away", "Please kill the monster that's doing monster stuff in the hills" I've also noticed that if you power through quests you can find yourself facing quests that are too high level for you real quick.

I'm running the game at 1080p pretty much all ultra, shadows at medium/high and testellation with reshade+sweet fx color mod at high and i'm getting constant 60fps at heavly overclocked msi 970. I haven't gone further than white village/ garden yet as I was testing the settings. Game is amazing

Barely 20 fps on 750 everything on low, 60-40fps on r9 270 on high-ultra.

Seems legit

Struggling medium over here with 20-30fps on a GTX 660 2GB...

Literally became a pc gamer 2 years back and had my head held high above my shoulders when I was able to boast a stable 60fps on Battlefield 4 with high/ultra settings at 1080p. Now, my system is appearently a potato. Makes me kinda disappointed. Why have a gaming PC when a PS4 or XBone will suffice, especially with dev's who downgrade the PC versions of their game and optimize for consoles?

Then us gamers who thought they were a cut above average are below the average, and end up burning their wallets for GTX Titan X's to go crying in corners...

Yes. I also like that it is more skill based than level based. In level 4 I encountered 8 level 16 slavers and after intense long fight I was able to kill them all.

I also killed level 14 wyvern when I was only level 6.

I can't take down level 14 bazzilisk though.

Personally I think its great. As its been said already, it has great voice acting and looks great.

Gerald is a great character.

Money seems quite hard to come by and leveling is pretty slow.

Dull and worse than W2 because of the open world. At least they took some tips from the Gothic series on how to build a world.
