Razer's Brings Chroma To The Mouse Mat, why?

ahhming

Firefly_w_600.jpg

Called the Razer Firefly and cost  $59.99. The Firefly is powered by a seven-foot USB cable, and measure in at 13.98 x 10.04 inches

Unfortunately, the mat itself doesn’t light up; rather the left, right and bottom borders of the mat have Chroma lighting. Just like the BlackWidow keyboard, the Firefly also features wave, spectrum and reactive lighting patterns. Through Razer’s Synapse software, users can also sync the Firefly to match colors and patterns with other Chroma products.

Call me sad, but if I was going for the whole RGB thing (and I plan to someday) this is possible the coolest thing ever

I wish the pad lit up like the alienware touchpads - that would be the most baller unnecessary thing ever

Have you seen what people are paying for quality mousepads right now anyway? around the $40 range...

you're telling me that for just $20 more, I can get custom lighting effects?

saying this is pointless is like saying making any choice of aesthetics for a build is pointless. $20 is FAR cheaper than some of the shallow decisions other people here have made over aesthetics

and Razer is one of the few companies that strongly believe in quality mousepads, so this will probably be another well built/finished one

**Razer, if you're reading. Please black out the logo. Don't ruin custom lighting with un-changeable colors!**

The higher end mousepads are expensive already, but this is just an attempt to be able to charge even more for one. It's kinda cool though, but not practical at all. Imagine a deskpad version of this, even though this already is a big mouse pad.

I don't know if anyone else agrees with my thinking, but on Razer's website, the logo changes color with the rest of the lighting, leading me to believe the logo is chroma as well.

If it's a good mouse mat, why not?

Every mouse mat is a good mouse mat. It only depends on how big you want it.

Ohhh i can remember the jokes when the invictus mousepad came out(1-2y ago) "does this mousepad also require synapse" "has this a USB connector?" Guess razer gave trolls back by doing it for real

May the light have your back and your ISO low.
