Never heard of any homework like this. Looks good to me. Also if you want to learn more about computers and stuff watch techquickie(a youtube channel). Also no reason to use win 7 ultimate and instead of win 8.1 pro(there is no ultimate for 8.1)

i've had assignments like this back in the high school days.

if you arent planning on adding extra graphics cards, you can pretty much HALF that power suppy.

go for something 650W 80+ gold or better.

swap out the two WD blues for seagate barracudas (perhaps one 2TB drive) i personally have bad experience with WD's blue and green line.

and would never give a crap about desktops

Also with this kinda of budget you might be able to get a gtx 980 in. In reality this kind of pc would be used for gaming and maybe video production in adobe premiere pro or sony vegas pro.

<-- my country is right there, and well... i had an ICT teacher that pretty much flabbered out whatever task he could come up with on the spot, and then went to his corner to watch cat videos. i do not approve of this kind of tasks, because there is no valid way of giving scores, but they're out there, and we might as well help this guy to make the best of it.

What... Intel i7 or later model? Technically, every processor after Gen 1 i7's is a model later, so could we recommend a Celeron?

Also, while some may not like it, why is AMD not an option?

Very odd spec. I mean why would a WORK desktop need a quick bootup time under 15 seconds? This seems odd, since once your at work you dont usually switch your computer off and on every minute.... I get the idea your teacher is after a SSD, but why not just claim that like he did for the I7?

Eitherway, it is a solid build, but I think I would do one thing differently. Get a 2nd 256gb SSD and raid it with the first (raid1), and raid the 2 1TB hard drives, also in raid 1. This means if one of the SSD's or HDD's fail, you haven't lost any data at all.

I have never heard of a school doing something like this

I had to do it in class in high school. Everyone was given a list of papers with components and some had to build a max budget pc, some had a min budget, then there were Intel configs, AMD, etc. And those lists were years old, that was almost 10 years ago, and I remember it because I was on the max budget pc, that few thousand $ single core CPU (Pentium 4?)...

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

Sorry for the late replies, I have been busy lately with tones of project which is practically killing me. But after reading through all the comments i have changed some of the components. Is it okay to reduce my GPU to a 750? I also forgot to mention that its supposed to be in Singaporean Dollars SGD.
