Chossing second 970 for SLI

So i'm considering buying a second card (Currently have a Gigabyte 970 WindForce) when the holidays are near and the prices drop. My plan is basically grab whatever 970 is at the lowest pricepoint, but is there ANY issue with running cards from different manufacturers? As far as i know, no, but wanna be sure. Also, any manufacturer that really dropped the ball on the 970 so i can avoid those? Thanks in advance, xoxo

Nope there's no issues with mixing and matching different 970s for SLI. All of them are decent aside from one that you want to stay away from, which is the MSI Tiger 4GD5T

No wonder it's 40 dollars cheaper on most places...Thanks for the tip mate!

If it were me, I would get the exact same card as you have. My OCD would not like it if you had an EVGA card and a Gigabyte one.. :P

But regardless of which you end up choosing, SLI should work fine.  You can SLI whatever brand you like. The only thing needed to be same is the chipset. You have two 970's so you're good.
