Much difference between the 4460 and the 4690?

 

not much really, 4690 is maybe like 2% better

Hmmmm. Still not sure about the motherboard. Like I said I'm only really going to use the PC for editing/rendering/uploading. So I don't think I need a gaming motherboard.

Then get a locked i5 and a cheap board,

 What about the AMD FX-9590? Surely that must be good for editing as it has 8 cores.

not really sure, I tend to avoid AMD CPUs, since they do not suit me

So what should I get? As I being doing a lot more editing/rendering on the pc than gaming.

Try looking up the performance benchmarks for Adobe Premier

Ok. I'm laying out everything here:

 

Processor: Intel 4690k 

Motherboard (Changed it): MSI B85-G43 Intel ATX Socket 1150

RAM: HyperFury X 1600 MHZ DDR3 Non-ECC CL10 DIMM Kit (2X4GB), Black HX316C10FBK2/8X 

Storage: Western Digital 1TB Blue

Graphics Card: MSI GeForce GTX960 2GB Video Card

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

Case: Advance Evo

Power Supply: Corsair 600W CX CX600 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply

 

Will be used 85%-15% in favour of editing/rendering. Anything I could change to improve it?

Again no point getting a K processor and not a Z board

 

K processor = Z board

 

None K = H board

 

Otherwise everything looks good to me, dunno if that graphics card is overkill if you are not gaming,

Budget is now 875€ including the monitor. I am new to PC builds so not too sure what OS and peripherals are.

Hate to say it but if you don't know what is and peripherals are, I'd strongly recommend buying a prebuilt PC. Building one yourself requires that you can do some light maintenance or at least have someone familiar with computers that can at least set it up. Do it like I did and do like 2-3 weeks of hardcore research. Thats how I became in love with PC tech altogether. I find it fascinating. I can enjoy building a PC more than playing on it sometimes.

Try research CPU types. Intel vs AMD CPUs, socket types and comparability, graphics card types, AMD vs nvidia. Ram speed in gaming. Having this knowledge for starters will be enough to confidently build a pc
