Logitech G502 died just after two months

Christianm

Hi everyone,

My PC was off for about a week due to some work at home, last night I turned on my PC and the mouse was not working, no lights, no movement, nothing. I tried different USB port but I was getting the same error. I also uninstalled and installed logitech software, drivers from device manager but nothing happened. this morning i brought the mouse to my office and connect it to every USB port but it's not working here also. i have windows 10 (latest build) at home and windows 7 in office PC.

I bought it from Aliexpress 'cuz I'm from Pakistan and i did not have any other place to buy this so there's no warranty of mouse, i guess i lost my $70.

I've been using MX518 for years (and back again after G502 died), i also had G500 which was having double clicking issues after a year or so.

Is the G502 and Logitech products really unreliable now?

which one should i get now, Corsair M65 RGB (it may not be available at Aliexpress) or get G502 again (maybe I was unlucky). please suggest any other mouse for around $60.

thanks

Ooh that's odd. I've been using my G502 since January, and it's still going strong. Think you got a bad unit

Been using mine for over a month with no issues to date either.

I'm incluned to agree with RevoltTrain that you just might've got a bad unit. And no, Logitech isn't known for poor quality overall.

That's really odd. I have always used Logitech mice because of how reliable they are. I've had my G9 for 8 years and still works. My G600 works great since launch and my G502 has been working flawlessly since it was released. Maybe you just got a bad mouse which happens with any manufacturer. Logitech is still great. I currently own 6 of their mouses and all work fine.

yeah maybe a bad unit, any idea how good quality mouse like G502 can die so early? what can be the cause so i be careful next time? i understand that devices like mouse and keyboards does not give up very quickly.

Just get the same mouse of you did like it while it worked. You shouldn't have to worry too much about it breaking again if you get a good unit.

You could email them on their site or something?

ok i will try lets see what they reply. if they say send the mouse to them (some other country) then i believe the shipping will cost me same as the mouse cost.  :)

Based on the comments and advertising my guess is that the mouse you received isn't authentic. :( Could be wrong but it feels like they are going out of their way to prove their equipment is authentic.

That could very well be grey market and then the warranty would be void, hell could be a knock off on that site.

I would try registering it and RMAing it I made a guide for someone else here http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/358615-cant-submit-warenty-claim/?p=4866366

well, so sad that I lost my $70 on G502. so it's dead now and no RMA to be claimed, I disassembled the mouse and it seemed like a legit/authentic mouse. the build quality outside and inside was exactly the same as in the below websites. the PCB and components were exactly the same and same quality, maybe it was my bad luck that the mouse lost it's life at very early age. the packaging had some Chinese language along with English, I don't know maybe because it's was made FOR china and/or around countries.

Logitech sends a brand new mouse or keyboard if they need to be RMA'd. :)
