How does one become sponsored? Is it just a matter of calling the company up and convincing them that you are worth their time and money?

Pretty much. I approached companies with examples of my previous work and plans for future work. Most companies are inundated with requests, so you do need to have quite a convincing case.

Pretty much, if you have exposure on forum sites and a history of builds it makes it easier. They are looking for advertising.

Anyway, followed! I was looking at Aether and I expect even better from this one!

Thanks! Did you see Aether in my OP or elsewhere?

Corsair parts arrived!

I don't think anything could quite prepare me for the immense size of the 900D. I'm considering adding coasters for mobility, or perhaps I'll use some of those appliance rollers...

The motherboard arrived. MSI X99S SLI Plus. I love the look of it all in black.

I started a test build. I'll be using a Corsair H105 until the loop is fitted. More pics coming soon...

Im personally not a fan of the cpu water block

Fair enough. I like it - the cooling performance is pretty good, and the full copper/brass construction feels very solid.

What color themed build is this?

Mostly black with either some purple or orange, haven't decided yet. I haven't put it in the OP, but Mayhems are making me a custom coloured coolant to go with the theme.

Just seen your post. Thanks for the offer, but I'll probably make my own at some point.

Finally making some more progress on the project. I fitted the awesome Coldzero kit for the 900D. Very impressed with the quality and engineering of the parts.

In the photos you might also notice my dolly trolley. It has made working on the system so much easier!

Woah that's really cool! I might take that on my build with the 750D (The stealth mod) for a card reader I have.

What do you think about removing the 5.25 bay in general to free up space? Granted you have a fan controller, and a 900D so space isn't a problem, but I think I might do it to my 750D when I actually upgrade it and watercool it.

Also isn't that front panel a huge problem for an airflow perspective?

Edit: followed btw. looks like a fun project to watch!
