hmm 24mm@2.8?

 

Would be good, f2.8 still gives a nice depth of field and decent low light performance

 

24mm is nice as it would be roughly a 35-38mm lens after crop which is much better than 80mm

yeah its really really long, I use about 1/3 of it - honestly 60cm is more than enough

 

Unless you are going around an entire car or something its WAY too long - it barely fits on my dining table :P

 

the one with wheels might be useful but not as smooth or controllable a slider IMO - 

really? its not as smooth as the 60cm normal slider???

ohh... it has legs which you can lock down instead of the wheels....

also, what do you think about putting a slider on a tripod head and using it like a jib? how would that work?

Judging from my slider, they are not strong enough (at least not my long one) the metal is quite bendy
