Best home theater OS for an old system?

Someone on the forums gave me the idea of converting an old pentium 4 into an entertainment system, but I am unsure what operating system to use. It's a Pentium  4 HT with 1-2gb of ram w/ two 40 gigabyte HDDS. Any suggestions for a operating system for watching videos/netflix if that's possible? Thanks!

Ubuntu is the easiest to get up and going, and has the most online support afaik

Kodi (formerly known as XBMC) but your going to have to get a cheap card like a HD 5450 to do HD video playback.

I prefer Linux Mint over Ubuntu. Ubuntu feels too much like OS X for me. Also I like your name Godzilla

I haven't really played around with Linux distros to much, but Ubuntu is more like desktop android. Which isn't a bad thing either.

I thought I had some money... Oh wait... I spent it all ;(
