Cheap dac/amp for hd 558s

Mainly looking for more power and crisper sound. Currently using on board sound on my asus z77 v lk.

First does it get loud enough with your motherboard? Second, do you get EMI with it?

 

If the first answer is yes and the second one is no, you don't need amp / dac.

 

Instead, what you could get instead is a better headphone

how can this board not push these headphones to an extreme sound level? My crappy onboard from back in 2011 pushes my HE400i to INSANE volumes.

 

-> you don't need an amp

-> get new cans instead

What headphones are you using? You might just need a better set.

 

But if you're set on a dac/amp, try Fulla Schiit. http://schiit.com/products/fulla

I'm using on board for my 558s. They sound fine to me. Then again, I don't really turn them up very high.
