Corsair Obsidian 450D vs 750D for custom water cooling loop

Go to solution Solved by givingtnt,

tbh, I have a 450d, and I regret not going with a 750d.

I don't even watercool and tbh its not the best case.  the 750d will be a lot better.

the psu dust filter won't change much, if it s facin up, if its facing down, won'T get dust in the pc, but just in the psu.

I'm looking for a new case to water cool for the first time (My current case is a Cooler Master Storm Enforcer). I like the looks on both the 450D and 750D but I'm not sure which one to go with.

I found the 450D for sale for $170 and the 750D for $210. I was going to get the Phanteks Enthoo Luxe/Pro but couldn't find it anywhere so these two are probably my best option.

  1. I'm currently leaning towards the 450D because of its cheaper price and smaller size. Would a custom loop fit in it?
  2. Is there enough space for a 275mm pump/reservoir? If there is how would I mount it? Would I have to drill some holes in the case?
  3. I did some research and read that the 750D "chokes" the front fans and it doesn't seem to have a PSU dust filter. Will these be an issue? Would there be a noticeable difference in the amount of dust in my case?

Thank you, I'll get the 750D today. Wanted to mention that it does have a PSU dust filter, just not one for the bottom fans.

Just one more question, can I use tape to secure a reservoir to the case or would that go horribly wrong?
