This happens with every Fry's deal.  They'll advertise these insane prices on products that are out of stock basically everywhere, and they've been doing it for years.

This happens with every Fry's deal.  They'll advertise these insane prices on products that are out of stock basically everywhere, and they've been doing it for years.

they did this for an msi z87 board for like 5 dollars.

 

i asked the assistants and they told me why it was so cheap. it is basically out of stock everywhere except for one store.

 

but if someone has a store near them that actually has it, i am so jealous

It was actually in stock at my place, but i went to Fry's a day later when the deal was posted and it was out of stock. :(

I can never find sale-priced items at Fry's.  It almost makes me wonder if they just keep like a handful in stock so that they can't be accused of bait-and-switch when every one else shows up looking for one.... and buys something else "while we're here."

basically what happens is, when an item gets discontinued, frys marks them down to get it out of stock faster.

source: i currently work at frys.

 

and btw i just checked our system, we're out of stock at all locations. sorry

They would, as it is sold by a company with a brick and mortar locations, even if the price is found online. The problem is, that model number does not exist in their inventory... :(
