Why such a big PSU?

Because if you have two 980s and an i7 overclocked it's going to draw quite a bit of wattage. And it's enough for more powerful cards in the future.

1k PSU is way overkill. I want a build for now. 600 is more than enough for 1 card + overclocking. I also aready have a HDD by the way.

What resolution are your monitors? Refresh rates? There is no point in building an overkill system.

The power supply and case is overkill. If you pick your parts correctly you might be able to build a system with a titan x for 1.7K.

Not bad. But like I said i already have a PSU. And you'd be stupid to mix AMD and intel. NVIDIA all the way. 980

  • Asks for a build, gets one under budget that's still powerful
  • I provide points for why the PSU is useful
  • And I get this

Right, well, enjoy whatever you pick, good luck, etc.

Just think smart. I have 600 already.  No reason to buy a new one when I spent money on one already. For the money you save without a PSU, I can get rid of the HDD, more SSD and better ram. I have a build I'm thinking about getting. I want suggestions on what people think. Is that even colored as well?

"Future proof" "No, that's overkill so there's no reason to go with that."

Do you understand the contradictory statements or no?

I said furture proof for the ram and cpu. Alot of people would've put a i5. Thats kinda why i mentioned i have a 600w already.

I've been throwing together builds for a long time, you ask for advice and I give it and reasoning. Take it or leave it. Not my fault if you don't want to understand the rational behind it.
