Is this memory compatible ?

Hi, is this memory ( http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231468&AID=10657534&PID=3938566&SID=&nm_mc=AFC-C8JunctionCA&cm_mmc=AFC-C8JunctionCA-_-na-_-na-_-na&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_source=afc-%zn) compatible with LGA 1150 Motherboards ? In the specifications ( Features) it says that is it compatible with  Intel LGA1155 and AMD Llano/AM3+ platforms

Intel XMP support for 2nd and 3rd Generation Intel Core Processors.

Thanks

Maybe the posting was made before 1150 was made

Yep, should be fine. Please note that that is a high speed ram (2133 MHz). Most MOBOs don't support high speed RAMs. Check your motherboard for the specs of the slot. It will work fine, but you won't get the full performance that this RAM offers.

How come ? How can I make sure that it supports hight speed ram or not ? I use this motherboard : http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130771&cm_re=msi_z97_g45-_-13-130-771-_-Product

Yes it is. But check your Motherboard. If it says DDR3 1600/ 3200 etc. It means it can use DDR3 ram at 1600Mhz or 3200Mhz.  If your board says DDR4 1600 / 3200 that means you must have DDR4 at 1600Mhz or 3200Mhz. But this doesn't always apply to mobile dives such as laptops. Crucial.com will often have a ram lookup page.

Thank you

Also, http://ark.intel.com/I'd go here to make sure your CPU supports it.  Some Intel processors on 1150 don't like 2133.  Some will even if it isn't listed, but some still will only want like 1333/1600/1866.  If your board does, but your processor doesn't have it listed then contact Intel because sometimes they don't update things.

This is only means that if you dont use a xmp profile, the cpu will use them as either 1333 or 1600. It does not mean it cannot use faster ram than that

i dont think i've ever seen a 1150 cpu that doesn't hold the ram at 2133mhz or even 2400mhz tbh.

That's actually good to know.  I for some reason always assumed that meant that's what was supported.

well some of the chipsets only go up to 1600 so intel play it safe. as long as you have a z87 or z97 board with an unlocked i5 or i7 there is no reason why it couldn't hold 2800mhz+ ram.
