Good place to start learning code?

No previous coding experience would like some suggestions as to where I should start any and all help will be appreciated.

I personally think codecadamy is way too broad, I mean it is great for beginners as it gives you the brief outline... but they don't really explain the underlying meaning behind the syntax. Your best bet would be to take a FREE course on coursera.com and follow along with a textbook. I've been doing this with python and it works brilliantly.
