Windows 8.1 slow and hangs?

orangecat

Ever since i upgraded to Windows 8.1 it seems slower than Windows 7 did and it seems to hang allot. Right now I'm cleaning the temporary Windows update files and its only about 1GB but it's taking forever and it's on my SSD. Also sometimes in the processes tab in task manager it shows my CPU usage at 100% but when i go to the graph view it isn't, I don't know why it's like that or if thats normal on Windows 8.1.

Em, no... Try completely wipe ur ssd and do 'clean install'. Should be fine.

Or maybe it's just a virus.

8.1 is a mess and has a learning curve .

I don't know what's causing your problem .

I'll give you a couple bits of advice though .

1- Go into settings and set up system restore . It's not enabled to start .

2- System Refresh will remove all second party software that is not installed through the stupid app store .

 MSI Z97A Gaming7 , 4690k , 2 X MSI 960 4g , 500gb ssd , 7tb of WD hdd storage , EVGA 100G2 , Corsair h100i , 2 X 32" 1440p as I RMAd the 4k ones , CM quickfire .

NOW I'VE LOST IT I KNOW I CAN KILL . TRUTH IS HIDDEN BEYOND THE GATES  IT'S ALL DARKER THAN BLACK .

And u shouldn't, because win8 has a good built-in antivirus.

Anyways, try clean install, there may not be something else (hardware problems, I mean).

I'll look into that. i'm very familiar with Windows 7 but theres allot of changes in Windows 8.1 that I haven't quite figured out yet.
