Tv has no picture but has sound

Hi  my samsung tv (lns3241d) has suddenly stopped showing anything on the display however I do get all of the Tv sounds (turning on and off sounds) and the sounds from the digital box that is hooked up to it. Does anyone know what happened and what should be my next step (repair or brand new TV)?

Do you get ANYTHING from the display? Might be the backlight is not coming on - possibly because of a faulty inverter or something in the PSU.

Unplug everything and plug it back in? Try a different HDMI cable?
