ipad issue with deleting files

My memory manager says I have 20GB of used storage on my ipad in the photo app or whatever. I HAD a big video on this tablet, but I deleted it. But I can't reclaim that space. There are no videos on my ipad, just some photos. I don't have many apps either so my storage should be good, but it isn't. Any help would be cool. Thanks.
