Sure--the Tri-X 280x does come with a factory oc though.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

Yes, you can.

An overclocked GPU means that the manufacturer raised the clocks from the reference values and put some guarantee that they will work this way. Overclocking yourself means you can achieve higher frequencies, but also means that they aren't guaranteed and most probably will vary between samples of the same model of this card.

Isn't 280x Vapor-X is highest pre-oc 280x? Default at 1150mhz if i'm not mistaken, that leave very little overclocking headroom.

My bad, that is 280x Toxic.

Sure you can overclock it, you can use MSI Afterburner and/or Sapphire Trixx. I recommend MSI Afterburner because you can do a lot more stuff with it.

Hopefully you didn't get lemon chip though.
