LG 21/9 software - malware issues?

I heard on Wan show a couple of weeks that apparently the LG software that comes with their 21/9 range did something to something and made your computer more vulnerable to intrusion by malware etc. Was just wondering if anyone could tell me if this problem had been addressed yet as I would like to get the software for my new monitor but am worried about the consequences.
