R9 270x on PCIe 16x version 1.1

I have a spare of Radion R9 270x and want to put it on an old motherboard with PCIe 16x version 1.1 withAthlon II x4 640 3ghz CPU.
Does my PCIe version 1.1 bottlenecks my R9 270x?

Hoping for an accurate answer
Tnx

Yep, I tried an R7 240 on my Asus P5K VM, which has PCIe 1.1, and it didn't work at all.

Were you using the latest BIOS, etcetera?

Sig under construction.

Yep (I had to for my Xeon X5450). And updating the bios does nothing for PCIe compatibility, its Nvidia PCIe 3.0 cards that work in PCIe 1.1 slots (I know this because my GTX 650 ti - PCIe 3.0 worked but the R7 240 didn't work at all).

It's mostly likely something else as my my 750ti is happily running on pcie1.0 16x on my core2quad motherboard.

As for the OP, no, the pcie bus will not bottleneck but that processor will.

The 750 Ti is both an Nvidia card and it's a PCIE Gen.3 card...

I was just about to point that out.

The 750 ti is a newer card, with PCIe 3.0 and made by Nvidia. That's why it has no problems on PCIe 1.0, unlike AMD PCIe 3.0 cards.
