Question about macbook screen

pwnage630

I'm fixing a screen of a macbook for a friend. To find the year it was made, I looked on the bottom and it said it was a 2009 macbook. I order the glass on amazon (not the whole lcd display, it was only cracked).

It comes, looks good. I go online for a tutorial on how to change it and I run into a problem. My macbook looks really different from the ones on the tutorials, I guess my friend had the bottom of his mac changed and someone didn't order the right one because his looks like its from 2007 (its all plastic). Would it still be ok to use this screen for a 2009 macbook on a 2007 macbook?

The bezel on the replacement is a bit smaller.
