Making a Recovery Image

I want to make a recovery image/back-up for my Laptop, I want every file I currently have on my Hard Drive to be copied over these (even Browser bookmarks if possible). I want a back-up/recovery image as I want RESET my laptop.

What procedures should I follow to have a successful and mistake-less install?

 

EDIT: I want the image to be on a USB.
