Gears of War HD Coming to Xbox One

Bouzoo

The original Gears of War is in the process of being remastered for release on Xbox One, Polygon reports.

Epic Games' 2006 third-person shooter is being improved with enhanced visuals and cutscenes, the latter of which are in the works at visual effects studio Plastic Wax, which GameSpot profiled back in 2013. Similarly, Halo 2's reworked cutscenes in The Master Chief Collection were handled externally by Blur Studio.

from what I remember it was basically these beings that dwelled below the earths surface who rose up one day to try and take over or something, the gameplay was actually incredibly comparable to rl paintball

Never mind me. You just made me feel old in two different ways simultaneously. It's just a bit shocking when people call a game that came out when I was at UNI was their "childhood". And I don't want to do the old man "that game wasn't age appropriate" thing either but... damn... so thanks for that ;)

And thanks for pointing out that Halo was out five years before. Because the original Halo was still a pretty big deal just after I finished High School. So pointing out how long ago Halo came out makes it even worse. The game had a long tail for sure but I distinctly remember post-HS fun involving setting up a rats-nest of cables for 2 CRTs so we could do 8 player Halo death matches.... between games of C&C Generals....
