[WIP][Build] PTT Pedal

Sharon24

so how you doing guys?  B)

this project came for the need for easy PTT use in my Arma 3 Clan Teamspeak.

i use until now to use Voice Activation but all the complains i get that my mic is so sensetive they hear me breathing(not sexy)

with this idea(after hours on the internet): PTT PEDAL

what i going to use:

  1. arduino pro micro (uses ATmega 32u4)which can simulate HID KAYBOARD for those who dont know what is arduino --> link

  2. tattoo foot pedal

how i going to use:

the foot pedal is simply a switch.

so what i planing to do is like this

the arduino going to "sense" the pin that the pedal is connect to.

if the arduino sense a 5v from that pin (in electronic term "HIGH" OR "1")

and then tell the arduino to take that state and translate it to keystrokes

which is go to set in the teamspeak as Push to talk (PTT)

the key i going to use is the "Scroll lock"  (for now(details later) because is the only key that i tested in arma 3 and desktop that have no uses (as much that i find at least)

if i can give you some advice:

more pedals & buttons, it'd be a waste to just use that arduino for just one button.

hook up a dedicated mute button, maybe media keys, reload key, sneak, etc.

Looks good. Once you get it working as a joystick can you let us use the code as I would like to do the same thing.

If you're looking for a cheap pedal look at used sewing machine pedals on ebay.

i have a pedal on the way already

sewing isnt good because is variable resistor(speed) and not on/off

There are older ones that don't have speed control.
