Was looking at the Acer 4k w/ G-sync, or the new Acer ultrawide 1440 that's coming in September.

A few things we need to know.

1. What is your use case? ie. web browsing, gaming, productivity, video editing

2. What do you currently have if this would be an addition to your current setup.

Sorry =(, Gaming and Youtube/Twitch.

Right now I just have the BenQ XL2420Z (I think) which is just a 24" 1080p 144hz. Bought it while I waited on a monitor i'd be dropping a lot of money on.

This one? http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-XL2420Z-24-Inch-LED-Lit-Professional/dp/B00HE61SOA So you consider a $320 monitor cheap???

Anyways if you are planning to keep that monitor I would get the ultra-wide probably, but if not maybe go for the 4k??

Keep in mind that neither of these monitors are really gaming optimized and then don't have refresh rates anywhere near the 144hz of your current monitor, so you may see a difference.

Another thing is maybe to wait until we see how well windows 10 handles scaling for 4k monitors, because you will need some scaling at the size of that 4k monitor.

But in the end it is really up to you to decide.

Yes that is what I am currently using. I may keep it or give it to a friend. I'm not a competitive gamer so the sub 100hz doesnt really effect me much. I'm thinking about the ultrawide but its about 100$ more than I want to spend. But really whats 100$ at that price point.
