Cant remove intel stock cooler - lga1150

monaka25

Title explains it...

I cannot remove my intel stock cooler from my ASRock Fatal1ty z97 killer.. I could only get out 1 push pin.. I used a wire cutter(The cutouts is perfect, better than plyers) and it will NOT come out... Im trying to upgrade to a cm hyper t4. What am I doing wrong D:??

P.S. Do I need to remove thermal paste from cpu and add a bit of mismatch? Or complete cleanoff, then rice grain?

Shouldn't you be able to pull out the things you pushed in to mount it?

I actually had a problem with my stock cooler unmounting itself by that way, meaning that i was throttling doing anything. A quick repress yielded the best temps so far...

Sig under construction.

Had the same problem. Ended up just cutting the feet off the back of the mobo.

Actually you need to twist the pushpins, not pull them.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

Lol turn the little knobs and it pops off. If you cannot remove that cooler you should probably close it up and never open the side panel again.
