Which 144 hz Monitor to buy? HELP!

SolarFrost<3

Hey guys. so I'm trying to buy a new gaming monitor. In want it to be 144 hz and 24 inches. I'm looking between these two monitors..

http://www.amazon.com/Philips-242G5DJEB-Extreme-Performance-Professional/dp/B00G6IWEE0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1429995597&sr=8-1&keywords=phillips+242g

http://www.amazon.com/Asus-VG248QE-24-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B00B2HH7G0/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1429995623&sr=1-1&keywords=asus+vg248qe

My thought process is to buy the phillips because if its dropped from $350 then there must be something better about it. IDK if anyone could help me it would be great!

Games I play

--> Counter Strike: Global Offensive

-->League of Legends

I personally have 2 vg248qe monitors and they are great, no real disadvantages and it is a lot cheaper than most other options! Definitely go for that one!

I have never heard of anyone using a 144hz Phillips Monitor. I can reccomend the xl2411z personally, out of those 2 i would pick the Asus one because ive heard many good things about it.

How about the new Acer Predator XB270HU, it's 144Hz IPS 4ms with G-Sync!

I feel like the 4ms sorta counteracts the 144hz..

144Hz~7ms, which means response time is still faster than rr. Also it's not always 4ms, sometimes it's way more than that, and it doesn't mean that you're gonna get more ghosting than the 1ms.

Ermmmmm that's really silly what you just said, don't think you've owned many monitors then. That would be so bad for CSGO it wouldn't even be funny compared to some VG248QE goodness, I've tried playing on a 4ms monitor and then my 1ms monitor and I can tell the difference, I also have a 7ms monitor and it gets really bad the farther I go down my monitors, I'm only a Eagle on CSGO, so I'm not the best, but I still know when my monitor is up to spec or it's my fault when playing.

Zzz please do more research about actual ghosting and response time before saying I'm silly. I've seen monitors with 5ms and has less ghosting than 2. What you're comparing is actually 60Hz vs 144. If you're lazy you can check Glenwing's posts about this matter.

None of you kids dont even know what response time is or that the advertised numbers for it always means precisely DICK...  its getting annoying.

The LEAST you could do, if you cant be bothered to learn, is read the right section on a REAL reivew.

Like the TFT cental one : http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/acer_xb270hu.htm

I think i've made the decision to go with the Phillips monitor because has the same specs and its cheaper on amazon atm. Also it isnt a glossy finish which i know i would learn to hate after a while. Over all the phillips looks cooler too. looks more like a gaming monitor. Thanks all for the responses!
