Plugging in a gpu

Twinsen77

My card reguires a 6 pin and an 8 pin connector. My psu has a cord that splits off onto 2 6+2 pin connectors and then has separate cords that just have 1 6+2 pin connector. Does it matter if I use the one cord that splits off onto 6+2, or can I use two cords, with just one 6+2 pin connector. Will I just have more wires if I use 2 cords, instead of one? Are there any benefits or problems with either setup?

I don't get what you're asking, but if your card have 1x6 pin and 1x8 pin connectors, connect one 6+2 to the 6 pin, leaving the other two pin hanging and another 6+2 in the 8 pin

This is a signature.

Doesn't really matter as long as they fit nicely.

I mean, I can use one cord with a 6+2 pin connector and then use another cord with a 6+2 pin connector.  Or, I can use one cord that splits off onto 6+2 pin connectors.  So it's plugging in 2 cords into my psu versus just one.  Right now I have two cords plugged into the psu.  Is that alright, or should I just have 1 cord plugged into the psu (the one that splits off onto 2 6+2 pin connetors.  Does that makes sense?

So it doesn't matter at all that I'm using 2 cords, instead of the one that splits off onto two 6+2 pin connectors.  I just don't want to fry my card.  So to be clear I have 2 cords plugged into my psu instead of one.  So it's one 6+2 and another 6+2.  I'm not using the cord that splits into two 6+2 pin connectors

Will work regardless :) No harm.
