What is the best (for price) separate mic on the market for talking to people

Go to solution Solved by DWN,

So i was just wondering if anyone had found a really good mic for its price. The sorta mic that is good for using in game, in TS and in skype. Not one that is necessarily great for recording audio.

Personally i was looking at just going ballz deep and buying a blue Yeti, ok its a little pricey but i dont think i will ever need another mic again after that (unless it breaks)

Please leave suggestions and links to what ever you think is worth the money and gives good-great audio quality for the money.

Thank you, and keep doing your forumy things...

Honestly, if you don't want to make the Blue Yeti stretch (which isn't a long one) as @thekeemo said, slapping a ModMic 4.0 on your (good) headphones will be more than plenty for gaming, teamspeak, recording videos, etc. Just don't expect to do voiceovers or any professional recording scenarios. But for what you mentioned, it should do.

Though, if you are wanting to "future proof" the purchase slightly, I would go with a standalone mic (so many good choices) such as the Yeti, per the cheapest good one. If you want to spend just a bit more, the options get shorter but better.

that thing you clock on your headphones with a magnet or dont u use headphones?

Yes, that's what both those are. You stick/magnet them onto a pair headsets & plug it into the Mic jack, that's it.

Blue snowball is good enough for even some smaller youtube channels. Of late, most people seem to think the audio-technica AT2020 is the best sounding because it picks up more lows for vocals. The Yeti is rather large and is hard to find accessories because of the size - another reason to go with the AT2020 if you wish to empty your wallet.

Neewer mic for sure. $6.50 for 5 of them. They may be cheaply built but they do the job well, especially if you edit the audio. Sounds much better than my Cloud 2 mic, and even better than my buddies Blue Snowball.
