game keeps freezing and crash

So i got a new 1Tb hard drive to hold all my games, everything seemed fine until i realized that when i would play BF4 my character model would be missing and then the game would freeze and i would have to close it with task manager. i reinstalled it and it still wouldn't work so i installed it on my original hard drive (with my os) and the game ran fine. then the same happened when i got gta v. the screen would freeze and the same audio would keep looping, i noticed that my case has a light to show hdd activity and usually it is blinking but now it was staying lit. i installed it on my c drive like bf4 and now it works fine (but they also released a patch). now i downloaded the witcher 2 and the same thing is happening, it freezes and the light stays lit. i want to know if there is anyway to check the health of my hdd or anyone who has had the same problems. thank you for any help and sorry for the long post

Hey i-Iz-tOny,

What is the 1TB drive's brand and model? Maybe the drive is struggling with storage-intensive games. I would open the resource manager to see if the drive or any other hardware component is hitting 100% usage or something else is causing the games to stutter. I would try another SATA cable and port and also try the drive on another computer to see how it behaves. I would also suggest running a diagnostic utility to check the drive's health. I would recommend using the one provided by your manufacturer.
