Shipping to NZ or buying in NZ?

Lunatic

I am going to be building a gaming pc with a budget of $1500 NZD includng keyboard, and monitor, (No mouse or headset), and I am not sure if I should buy from amazon in America, or buy parts from New Zealand.

The only reason I do not want to buy it from New Zealand is because prices are through the roof (Use http://www.pbtech.co.nz/as reference).

But if I do buy from America, I would have to guess the weight of the components, and hope that  I have enough money to pay for shipping, and shipping is $12.50 per parcel and then $9.50 per 1 KG.

The components I would use are

http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/BFQbf7(NZ)

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NjwQ99(US)

Keep in mind the NZ - US exchange rate is currently 1.31 so the US Pcpartpicker would come to 1044.43 NZD

So, my question is, will it be cheaper to buy from New Zealand or buy from the U.S + Shipping

Thank you very much for any replies

You will get nailed for Duty on imports. I live in NZ too. Buying parts overseas works but you need to be careful. The import laws are annoying.

So it'll be easier to just buy from NZ?

I live in New Zealand and if you import any electrical components e.g. CPU. Make sure you keep it under $400nzd because if you go over you will need to pay GST.

I was thinking buying Gpu, Cpu from amazon, because of the massive price difference in them, and then buying the heavier components like case etc from NZ?

Because you live in NZ. Can i have your opinion for my build. I'm just waiting for the money so I can build it, but for the mean time I can tweak it a bit.

,Thanks

Really solid, but maybe spend a tiny bit more and get a 600/650 watt PSU, just for the overclocking potential on the 970 and i7

Honestly with amazon's shipping rate and the currency. You will be saving yourself a whole $13. So i would just buy from NZ and avoid the risk? Your choice....

Amazon doesn't sell that card directly from them, but from alternate sellers. If you really want to get it from the states you could us NZ post's service "YouShop"
