Can't Run 2 channel Ram config after installing new closed loop heatsink?...?

Go to solution Solved by TidaLWaveZ,

What kind of heatsink?  Are you talking about a closed loop water cooler? If it's a closed loop water cooler then make sure the power cord from the cooler is connected correctly, to the correct pins on your motherboard.

If this just spurred up from an aftermarket cooler, chances are that it's not motherboard failure.

Hey everyone,

I could use some help please =). I just installed a new closed loop heatsink, and now i get stuck in reboot loop with error beeps. I stripped everything back and found that I can only get the system to post with one ram module in the third slot and no other combination works. I've done a memory check on both checks and there were no errors found and the system posts with either module in the 3 slot. I've tried altering voltage to Ram but can't seem to alter it in the bios. Not too sure where to go from here, I'm thinking faulty motherboard but I'd thought I'd ask just incase its something simple that I haven't thought of.

here is my set up

Cpu: Intel Core i7 3770 running at stock,

MoBo: Gigabyte GA Z77-D3H

Ram: 2x 8G G.Skill Ripjaws X 1600MHz ddr3

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 980 Windforce

PSU: Cooler Master GX 750W

Thanks in advance =)
