Is the ASRock X99 WS worth it?

The ASRock X99 WS is, on paper, the most capable desktop motherboard I could find, supporting 8 slots for DDR4 RAM, workstation quality, and, of course, the X99 chipset. I mainly chose it for these 3 reasons, but there are plenty more things to love about it. The thing is, it's ~$220-420. Of course, I'd be buying it for the cheapest I can.

Short and sweet, is it worth $220? Is there another board with the same or higher build quality that offers that DDR4 memory and high count of PCI, SATA, and USB 3 slots/ports/headers?

except its double the price.....

Op $220 for a WS grade board is a steal but really any x99 board will do unless its being used in a professional environment then i'd take the WS.

Good point. I tend to buy professional-grade stuff because I'm a power-user to the point of being an abuser (It's not unusual for me to be gaming while rendering and watching videos).

You end up paying $200 extra and it doesn't fit in that many cases due to the "SSI CEB" form factor,  so it's not that good of an option.
