i5 3570k Vs Xeon?

Which one would be better?

Planning on Gaming and streaming...

Productivity work (Graphic design, video editing)

OC-ablity doesn't matter.

As for the Xeon, is there one that's cheaper and more powerful then a i5 3570k or a i7 3770k?

It depends upon the Xeon. which one specifically are you comparing to and what is your workload?

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

Updated OP. Hit enter by accident TT^TT

As for the Xeon, that's what I'm asking, I'm not sure what Xeon would fit my needs and give the best bang for buck.

Xeons are meant for commercial use, so obviously you're not going to get value when buying one.

Not always correct.

The E3-1231v3 is a good alternative to the i74690k if you want the cores but don't care about overclockability

What would be the 3rd gen version of that?

Weird, PCPP has the Xeon E3-1230 V3 as compatible with Z77 motherboards (1155 socket)...that is wrong, right?

Edit: sorry it is the Xeon E3-1230 V2

The xeon can get you HT for around the price of a Core i5, what you'll loose is the ability to OC. But that does not mean it cannot be OC at all, just limited OC through the BCLK.

Intel Xeon E5 1650 v3 @ 3.5GHz 6C:12T / CM212 Evo / Asus X99 Deluxe / 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4 3000 Trident-Z / Samsung 850 Pro 256GB / Intel 335 240GB / WD Red 2 & 3TB / Antec 850w / RTX 2070 / Win10 Pro x64

HP Envy X360 15: Intel Core i5 8250U @ 1.6GHz 4C:8T / 8GB DDR4 / Intel UHD620 + Nvidia GeForce MX150 4GB / Intel 120GB SSD / Win10 Pro x64

HP Envy x360 BP series Intel 8th gen

AMD ThreadRipper 2!

5820K & 6800K 3-way SLI mobo support list

That's a little high, whats a step down from that? Or would it be better to go with a i5?

A step down would be the i5.  Xeons below 1230 are 4 cores only, no hyper-threading.  $240 was the lowest new CPU I could find on ebay, maybe you could look into a used 1230.

What motherboard do you have?

$60 cheaper than the cheapest i7.

That's still like 400 dollars in Canada lol.

i think I might just go with the i5 :P

Aww damn... I should pay more attention... I know how it feels, I live in Toronto.

Wait for deals, scour tech stores like DirectCanada and Canada Computers... One Canadian here found a deal for an Asus Z97 Pro board just hours before he  was going to buy, half off ($125) at Direct Canada.  They only had 4 at that price, they went fast.
