6 months later but its here (or is it ?) Updates for K70/95 RGB Soft and Firm

Thony

So yesterday they released new updates Corsair Utility Engine v1.5.108 and Firmware update to 1.20 (finally right ?) and they claim to fix most of the problems :)

I dont have X99 platform, just Z97 but i still experienced long booting time. So im looking forward to see if anything has changed in upcoming days.

They also claim to enable 16.8M colour scheme, cant wait to see that either heh.

The update is kind of a dud.  They have come out and said that fluid 16.8 million colors will never happen.  We get our 16.8 million now, but with massive seizure inducing flickering.  Thanks but no thanks.  I'll be returning this thing if nothing else can be done.

Is it really THAT bad? I was thinking of getting K70 RGB (it's been a while since my last keyboard purchase, last two being the Ducky YoTH and DS4 69 Fire Ed), but in light of what I've been reading, perhaps I ought to postpone purchase of it. Which is fine, means more money to put to modding cables (from fixed to detachable) for two or three of my headphones.

The fix made a few lighting schemes I have flicker, but it also smoothed out a few lighting schemes that weren't nearly as smooth as before. It's really not a big deal to me since I'll just leave the 16.8m color option off(really easy to change.) As for crashing and all that, I've never really had any of those issues on my machine, my friends machine, or my laptop. It's a DAMN good keyboard.

It doesnt say u need USB 3 only. Says the same thing as before.

"Keyboard Connectivity:

 Connecting via USB 3.0: Use one connector (the one with the keyboard icon) when connecting via USB 3.0
 Connecting via USB 2.0: Use both connectors when using USB 2.0. Important Note: Plug in the connector with the two arrows icon first, and the connector with the keyboard icon second."

For how long they delayed this thing, yes it is/was bad. Some interactive lighting profiles (when u hit a key colours change, u see an animation like ripple, wave etc.) would stop working within an hour, and software would become unresponsive.

Some peopole had no issues wit the keyboard but some people did.

I havent tested 16.8M colour. Frankly probably never will even notice. Keyboard is beautiful even with 512.

If they fixed the stuff i got issues with I will find out in few days.

Either way i like this keyboard :)

I bought the keyboard in November and it had both options in my user guide and manual. Maybe u just didnt read it all or skipped the USB 3 part with your eyes :)
