Asus Rampage V Extreme, Noctua and SLI

As the title states, I am unsure if i even can fit SLI on this board with the Noctua NHD15 cooler.

Here's a picture of how it currently looks.

I should have chosen either another motherboard or a different cooler?

On my Rampage V, I SLI'd using lower PCI slots. Since there are 4x 16x slots, you can SLI on any combo of them.

Are you compeltely sure of this?

If i look in the manual it says the following:

PCIE_x16_1

PCI_x8_2

ÅCIE_X16/x8_2

PCIE_x8_4

According to the manual only the first and third slot can go x16 sli, im just wondering if and how i can get x16 bandwith out of this if I do need to use the 1st slot.

Stupid me, I tri-sli'd without the bottom slot. While you may not get 100% perf, you can still SLI on the other slots. The Noctuas are known for being too big.

Allthough it seems as if i might be able to fit the card on the first slot but its going to be insanely close to the cooler, how much will i lose by doing that?, It kinda feels like its defeating the whole popint of having x16 PCI slots if i cannot fuly use them.

Well those 10 fps does matter when runnig dual titans or similiar to that which is most likely what ill be chaning to quite soon.

Then I'd advise for you to upgrade to an AIO and ditch the Noctua.

I still have open buy on the parts though so I guess I could change the motherboard. But that's probably more hassle than it's worth.

Keep the mobo, get a different cooler. An All-In-One cooler (like the Corsair H100i GTX) would be best.

The NH-D14 didn't have that problem, though you're maybe sacrificing RAM compatibility instead.

Yeah they switched RAM issues to GPUY issues but i had chosent he ASUS X99 Deluxe it wouldnt have been any problem. Should i change?

It's a lot easier and cheaper at this point to change your CPU cooler to one with better compatibility and equal cooling than it is to get a new X99 motherboard.

Yeah that's true but acvcording to the video Linus Tech did it doesnt really make adifference does it?

and dx12 will msot likely lower the drawcalls so thent he speeds arent as important anymore.
