unbalanced?

Why did you get a 5820k with a 970

and why did you do a custom watercooling loop if you are new to PCs?

Anyhow, don't overclock. That system is unbalanced as hell and it seems you are a bit new. Just be happy with the performance you have, since it's probably pretty good.

That's not supposed to do that....

ok ill tell you what i know with overclocking. What you do is go into what ever program you use to Overclock (I use Afterburner, its MSI but it works for everything) and just touch up (very small) the settings. Then what you do is run benchmarks or use Intel Extream Tuning Utility and run them for about an hour. When the hour is over check it and it should tell you (Intel will) if its stable. If its stable then youre good and even can push them more if you want. It seems you have watercooling so temps wont really matter...

best of luck :)

ya like he/she said. Your system seems unbalanced and it may be good to just be happy with what you have now. Totally up to you :P

go for it. Not that hard, just up the multiplier to a little under what other people have theirs at then set the voltage to the smallest you can while still being stable during stress. Did you just have a ton of money burning a whole in your pocket so you went with an overkill cpu can cooler or what?

the only "unbalanced" thing i see is the PSU, but its ok if you are planning to go SLI or crossfire in the future.

Also you dont especify, but if its only for gaming i would go for the 4790k along with a gtx 980, if you want to do heavy video editing/ render the build is perfect

As for the overclocking part... i dont think you need it, but you should aim for 4.2 ghz , is a pretty safe overclock

i have the 5820k case i do some video editing and a lot of Photo editing i need the cores. and is the 970 a bad card with the 5820k?

and i dont do a hole lot of gaming maybe some league of legions here or there and some Mine Craft. but i do a lot of photo editing and some video editing

Jesus christ, if you think his build is "unbalanced" what does that make mine?! lol @Epmd612 @Comessy

Your build is perfectly fine, idk wtf these guys are smoking. You'll probably want to tack on another 970 for SLI at some point in the future if you're playing above 60hz @1080 or 1440@60, otherwise you're good to go.
