Best z97 MOBO for a i5 4590

Go to solution Solved by Faceman,

Go for an i5-4440 + B85 mobo, and put more money towards a better GPU.  Also no need for cooling, and buying a single 8GB stick allows you room for a 2nd.

H97, H81, Or B85 if you are not overclocking. There isn't a need for a 212 evo either. The 4590 is not overclockable.

Why z97 if you're not gonna overclock?

I heard that I need a z97, or i will create a bottleneck for the CPU

Happy to help.  By the way, the price on the i5 is really good right now, only $165, I would buy it now.  Same goes for motherboard, also at a really good price.

The R9 280X has been known to drop to $180-$190, so if you are patient, you can wait until it drops that low again saving yourself a few bucks.

Yep Z97 only for overclocking, and you don't need cooling unless you want something quieter. Stock cooler is fine.
