External Drive causing Windows not to load?

I'm having issues where every time I start up my computer, I get cannot find "Operating system". By leaving the External Drive connected, does that cause the problem?

 

 

 

I've got V300 Kingston 120GB SSD. 

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | CPU Cooler: Stock AMD Cooler | Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING (WI-FI) | RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 CL16 | GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB Zotac Mini | Case: K280 Case | PSU: Cooler Master B600 Power supply | SSD: 1TB  | HDDs: 1x 250GB & 1x 1TB WD Blue | Monitors: 24" Acer S240HLBID + 24" Samsung  | OS: Win 10 Pro

 

Audio: Behringer Q802USB Xenyx 8 Input Mixer |  U-PHORIA UMC204HD | Behringer XM8500 Dynamic Cardioid Vocal Microphone | Sound Blaster Audigy Fx PCI-E card.

Maybe boot order, set USB after your ssd or your os location

Maybe boot order, set USB after your ssd or your os location 

SSD is first in the boot order list. 

 

I'll keep my external un-plugged only when I need it.

SSD is first in the boot order list.

I too have that same SSD in  my laptop. Haven't come across this yet. Does it boot from the SSD if you unplug the external?

Yes. It works normally. Boots up fine. :)

Nope. I just use it for backups.

Yes, I've seen some weird cases like this, try to delete all partition and reinstall windows on your ssd, I think there is a problem in the windows boot manager
