It's the new and improved Driver Sweeper.

Hi guys!

I have bought one killing rig(thanks to Linus and this community) as my first one about 6 months. And i recently been noticing some disturbing problems with the image displayed on my screen.

1. My display often will turn completely black. I have a LED monitor so, i don't know if there is no image from the computer or the screen.

2. Occasionally my display turns green and have this distortions in the image.

3. Sometimes i notice some interference in the display, just like old tv horizontal lines.

So, guys i need your help. I've spend 2k+ in this rig and i've been loving it! But i'm afraid that something is wrong with my GPU. I'll put bellow some images of the problem and my computer hardware.

That kind of thing has only ever happened to me once, on a dying CRT monitor.  Not a GPU problem IMHO.

Unfortunately HDMI cables work in such a way that you either have a signal or you don't. In my opinion go with the cheapest options first. Follow the steps bellow. They are the most cost and time effective that I can think of in order to potentially fix your solution.

-Uninstall driver and move GPU to a different slot to make sure it's not a faulty PCI lane on your motherboard or a corrupt installation for the driver.

-Switch to a different display out from your gpu to eliminate a faulty display output

-If that fixed it buy the necessary cables to do your desired resolution and refresh rate.

-If that doesn't fix it try a different display (whether it be a 1080p TV or a friends monitor for a couple minutes or hours that would work)

-If that does solve it then you have a bad monitor or incompatibility for some reason between your card and monitor

-If that doesn't fix it try to RMA your card if it is under warranty still. Even if it's outside of the 30 day window from the shop a lot of manufacturers will still allow you to RMA it as long as you meet the stipulations (essentially didn't remove the sticker voiding warranty. They can't prove if you've OC. Or even if you have bios modded it as long as you put it back to factory bios before you send it in)

Follow this guide; it's from Microsoft themselves so it should be pretty easy to understand and follow. If you have any questions you can pm me for the next few hours or just post back here for help. It should guide you through the installation process. After it boots up you need to insert the CD you got for your motherboard to load your LAN port driver. After that your computer should pretty much auto detect and install everything else.

Go to the control panel and uninstall the NVIDIA drivers like you would with any other program :P

And restart your computer before you re-install of course

Should have gotten a better PSU. The CX aren't meant for a build like this. When you see the problem do a print screen and paste screenshot into MSpaint and save it. Then take save screenshot and open it in another computer. Now if you still see the problem on the other computer then it's your video card, but if you don't and the image looks clean, then it's your monitor.

Remove your card and try the onboard and see if it still does the same thing.

Guys, thanks to all the replies. Só far, after reinstalling the driver, everything looks smooth. No black screens, no green vision of hell. There was some pretty good ideas you posted. The printscreen idea is actually really smart because I can know if the problem is my display or the GPU. If the problem continue, I'll give it a try! I'm crossing my fingers to be only a driver problem. Thanks!!!

Try and check the card on another PC and change PCIE slots? :)
