Does the Lumia phone good for taking a Photo ?

Since i travel a lot i can't really bring my DSLR so I stumbled to a conclusion to buy a Lumia phone since it has a good review for its camera. But is it really worth it ? any opinions ?

Well, I own a Lumia 920 and it takes good pictures...sometimes in the best light available. Overall I think the quality is pretty poor. There has to be better options out there for you than the Lumia, I would imagine, so I vote "no, it isn't worth it". Though which were you planning on getting?

The Lumia 1020 is IMHO still one of the very best phone cameras out there.

The lumia 800, 900 and 1000 series phones all generally take good pictures, thanks to carl zeiss lenses and decent sensors, especially the lumia 1020 with its 41mp sensor.

I'm gonna vote yes. My Lumia 930 (or 1520, same camera) has one of the best cameras out there. But, if you want even more than that, the lumia 1020 is top-notch

Its ok, i personally prefer the iPhone 6 photo, its fantastic but the Lumia cameras are good also :)

 

You could also look into a more portable camera such as an RX100

I prefer the iPhone 6s camera by a long shot.

The Lumias are great for quickly whipping it out for a quick snap since dedicated camera buttons....which is awesome. Ergonomically they are great, but when I switched from my 1020 to 925 to iPhone I couldn't believe the difference - most of it is probably due to much better processing, but whatever gets the best results...

I would not suggest the 920. If you can, get a newer model.

You could also look into a more portable camera such as an RX100

^This. Portable cameras could be good choices as well. Depending on what you pick, you can get full manual controls, or even image quality that's comparable to a consumer level DSLR, like said Sony RX100. I have one, and while not perfect, it's great. Also has great video quality as well, if you are into that. If price is an issue, you can get a last gen one Like RX100 Mk.II or RX100 Mk. I.  Any of those will do just fine.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

The lumia is quite good, as long as you are fine with using a windows phone

Yup since i use it for instagram , twitch and messaging only
