whats your gpu?

whats your gpu?

@jeb man even then i've played 40 gb stepup games like COD AW and that took i think 30 mints to install.

@ Zappian . its ASUS GTX 980 . but there is nothing to do with GPU during installation . GPU jumps in when i launch the game and during game play .

ya its a bit large and if your internet connection is bad or it is interupted in any way I could see it taking that long but its totally worth it

internet is not that bad its 32mbps so i'm getting atleast 3.2mb down rate even if its worst .

I bought through Steam because I don't have a disk drive

(Bought 2/7/15)

I was eligible for the pre-load so I did that when it opened up, only took an hour and a half to download and about 15 or so minutes to unpack / decrypt it when the game officially launched

Not sure if you can but maybe try activate the cd-key on steam and just install from there... if it's taken that long it sounds like it's hung (unless it's still progressing)

Thats super slow. Even for freaking HDD this wouod not be acceptable.

The only problem i can see is your Disc Drive bottlenecking u.

I actually dont know the read speeds of the DVD-ROM drives anymore but thats my best guess.

HDD can unpack and install game files within 35 minutes, SSD within 15 minutes.

Or as mentioned in comments, couod be because u need to download the latest patch amd rockstar server is very slow for u.

Friend of mine bought a physical copy and I was on the TS with them while they installed it. Took about an hour or two for him to run through the disks and install. Sounds to me like your install got hung up and didn't go anywhere.

SHUSH SHUSH.. Not all of us have God connections.. Some of us can only get 10meg a sec ;)

I have 16mbps (1.6MB/s down) and i still decided to download it.

When u go to bed its simple to leave the download on while u sleep and them limit it during the day so u have the game in 24hours (still faster than delivery by post).

If u have data cap then u are fucked and your excuse is valid.

It's cause social club downloads super slow and even if you have the disc version you need to update which is super slow.

People who downloaded it in less than 5 hours got the steam version.

I got the non steam version and it took 12 hours to download on a 200mbps connection
