I NEED HELP To build my very first gaming pc - starting from zero

Hey guys, i just came here to show you guys my future gaming pc. I almost know nothing about all this, I actually just started this journey. I will add in here the list of items i chose based on my (new) knowledge and i will be so happy if you guys could help me. I would appreciate if you guys told me if you find something that is not fitting in the build, I will also accept recommendations (performance+budget) :) I may add I am trying to get all these in a 1200-1400 dollar budget and I ask you guys to aim for that. Please send me links to the items you recommend, and I, aswell, ask for well-known companies. So end the talks and here is my build:

-Case: Black Enthoo Pro Windowed

-Processor: Intel Core i5-4690K Processor 3.5GHz Quad-Core

-Motherboard: Asus ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboards Z97-K/CSM

-PrincipalHardDrive: WD Green 2TB Desktop HardDrive: 3.5inch, SAA 6Gb/s, Intellipower, 64MB Cache WD20EZRX

-PowerSupply: EVGA 600B1 80+ 600W

EVGA SuperNOVA 750B1 80+ 750W

-Ram: G. Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2x4GB)

G. Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2x8GB)

-GraphicCard: Msi r9 290x 4gb

Sapphire tri-x r9 290x 4gb

Sapphire Vapor-X r9 290x 4gb

-CD/DVD internal drive: LG Super-Multi GH24NSC0 DVD rewriter

-Monitor: Samsung SD590 Series S24D590PL 23.6-inch LED-Lit Monitor

-Keyboard: Logitech G710+ Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

-Aditional Fans: Corsair Air Series AF140 LED-Lit (x2 purple and red)

-OperativeSystem: Windows 7 64 bit

-Mouse: Already got one

-Headset: Already got one

If any of them has more than one option is because I am comparing prices here at my country (CRC). Also I should tell I expect this build to be able to run GTA V, BF4, etc at a decently high quality.

As an addition I wanted to ask you guys what are reliable companies a side Amazon to buy this stuff. I heard about one called NewEgg, but I do not know if it is legit. please help me with that too :)

Thanks in advance :)

Why are you getting a K series Intel i5 without a decent cooler? Are you not going to overclock it? Your better off going with the Intel i5 4690 non K version and a different motherboard.

Love cats and Linus. Check out linuscattips-fan-club. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Z9QDVn and Asus ROG Swift. I love anime as well. Check out Heaven Society heaven-society. My own personal giveaway thread http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/387856-evga-geforce-gtx-970-giveaway-presented-by-grimneo/.

Can you explain that to me, Im not good at all at this stuff. What would be a decent cooler and what motherboard would you recommend?

And I don't really know what overclocking is, but why does the K in the i5 affects it?

the k means that it is overclockable, and since you dont know what overclocking is you might not wanna try it on a new build. since you can damage your pc if you dont do it right.

I guess what I need to do is to change the processor and the motherboard to these:

-Processor: Intel Core i5 4690 Processor (3.90GHz)

-Motherboard: ASUS H97-PLUS HDMI, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.0 ATX DDR3 1600, LGA 1150 Motherboard

Do i need to change the additional fans too?

Newegg is one of the largest online computer stores in the US.

A WD Green drive is not appropriate for system use. They are designed for relatively low i/o volume archival storage.

You might consider an H97 motherboard and an i5-4590 cpu.

A 2x4GB DDR3-1600 CL 9 memory kit is sufficient for a gaming and general use system.

The performance difference between various non-reference R9 290X is generally less than 5%.

A modular or semi-modular psu makes assembly much easier. The reduced cable clutter also improves airflow. I am not a fan of either of the psu in the OP list.

An ssd would greatly improve system responsiveness. Although it would make a negligible difference during game play. 240GB is the current sweet spot in most markets. 120GB would be ok if that is all the budget permits.

Here you go without the monitor and keyboard in the price. Fans are not really needed if your not going to overclock.

Wow dude thanks! This helped a lot! I just got one question due to my ignorance: what is the SLI you mentioned between builds?
