I'll go with you on this one. It would be interesting to see when its released the performance difference between an i5 and an i7.

Running it won't be a problem here. Question is if the game is properly done. Arkham Origins had quite some bugs...

Next gen consoles have blown system requirements out of the water for little gain.

Luckily for us that was a different developer. Rocksteady knows what they're doing.

I personally encountered far more obvious bugs in Arkham City. DirectX 11 mode still makes that game unplayable for me, and my GTX 770 is faster than any single GPU available at the time.

IDK why would they recommend i7 with Dx11, I don't think it would actually know what to do with so many cores, and GTX980 for ultra? this is overkill, also I found the specs on Steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/208650/but not a clue where ultra came from IK Nvidia but WTH!!

I fall somewhere above minimum and below recommended. I should be fine on medium settings, I'd think.

I'm hyped for this. I skipped Origins completely. Arkham Asylum and City were fantastic games though. I'm expecting big things from the return of Rocksteady.

Agreed.  Literally every AAA game that`s been released in the past year and a half has the i7 as the recommended CPU, despite them running just fine on the i5.  Also of note, the devs have pretty much equated an i7-3770 with an fx-8350...

CPU -AMD R5 2600X @ 4.15 GHz / RAM - 2x8Gb GSkill Ripjaws 3000 MHz/ MB- Asus Crosshair VII Hero X470/  GPU- MSI Gaming X GTX 1080/ CPU Cooler - Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3/ PSU - Seasonic G-series 550W/ Case - NZXT H440 (Black/Red)/ SSD - Crucial MX300 500GB/ Storage - WD Caviar Blue 1TB/ Keyboard - Corsair Vengeance K70 w/ Red switches/ Mouse - Logitech g900/ Display - 27" Benq GW2765 1440p display/ Audio - Sennheiser HD 558 and Logitech z323 speakers
