Split Steam library?

I'm having difficulty finding an answer in my searches....

Can a Steam library be split between two drives?

Open Steam, go to Settings, Downloads, click on Steam Library Folders at the top, then click on Add Steam Library, and tell it which drive you want the library on. Then whenever you install a game it will ask you where to install it and you can select the library you want.

I believe the way you would do it is copy the games to the drive, and then add the library to Steam and it should automatically find the files.

This. Just remember to direct the second directory to an actual folder instead of just a drive, otherwise you'll get the contents spread out in the base drive location.

After clicking on Steam Library Folders, the small window that appears has three buttons, one of them reads, "Add Library Folder."  I presume this is what you mean?

To verify:  After making another library folder on a second drive with that button, the next time a game is installed, it'll present the default location and the new folder I make on another drive as destination choices?
