APU should I get more RAM

Steven1997

I have got a acer xc 115 it is running

4gb RAM DDR3 i think 800MHz

with a CPU/GPU: AMD E2-6110 APU AMD Radeon Graphics 1.50GHz 4 cores 512mbs dedicated memory for the GPU

if i upgraded to 8gbs and 1866MHZ ram would i be able to do this and if so would i encounter any problems  and would i be able to run at better fps

Most likely no, since the motherboard in that laptop probably doesn't support 1866Mhz RAM.

Even if it did support it and you installed it I wouldn't think you'd see a dramatic performance improvement because of the CPU. (plus the onboard/APU graphics).

Best bet would be to buy a desktop

Sortof confused about what you are asking. More ram is always good, but not necessarily for more fps in games. The rest of your system is pretty lacking. You may want to upgrade other parts first

Almost not difference in speed only way to get better fps is to get a faster cpu and a dedicated gpu.

With APU's faster RAM does infact help with FPS.

lolno, higher clocked ram helps a lot with igpus/apus.

You have a AMD quadcore at 1.5GHz and radeon R2 graphics. Not even minecraft will run, upgrading ram won't do enough to make it run. Just buy an entirely new computer, apart from HDD and maybe ram all your components are too slow for anything more than email and light internet.

Look at it's specs, it is radeon R2 graphics. It has only 128 shaders cores and a max boost clock of 500MHz. It is only half as fast as intel HD 4000 graphics, ram won't do a thing.

Not sure about that socket but not worth it to upgrade imo.
