Looking for new BIG headset (i guess)

DennisReneHolm

Hi.

When playing GTA 5 i've noticed that a good headset is crucial, and i've been putting it off for a while to find a good one.

My problem with headsets is, that they end up hurting my ears.

I've tried these:

SteelSeries iron.lady Siberia (borrowed my girlfriends headset)
Feels too tight, i can feel the top of the headset on the top of my head, and the "speakerwall" inside the earcup must be to close to my ear, because after a couple of hours, I have to take them off

Logitech wireless headset H760

Too tight, hurts my ears after less than an hour, i've been using it as a mic around my neck though.

SteelSeries 5H v2 USB Headset

This headset is old and broken, but proberly the best of all headset i've tried, i got uncomfortable after more than 4 hours, and not alot, but not 100% comfortable.

Beats By Dre Beats Studio (no hate plz)

Not a headset, but these are the ones that fit me the best. I've been using them for over 2 years, for when i'm biking, walking, or just want to shut the world out. These are not uncomfortable, but since it's "leather" cups my ears tend to run kind of hot after long use.

So, what direction should i look in?

  • My budget is around 1000 DKK. (150 $)
  • Wireless would be awesome, not a dealbreaker if they are wired though.
  • They should isolate me farily, so that i can't hear the outside world too much.

Best regards, Dennis.

I don't understand why (oh god why) people buy headsets but I can refer you to this video, I think it will help your problem.

Same for me. All of those headsets (especially, "gaming") are overpriced and have really standart (or even bad) sound & mic quality.

Also all of them come with closed-type audio system, so u will hear your voice as some distorted sht.

Hyper X cloud is pretty big and nice and comfy, The Logitech G35 isn't bad either.

Build your own. Its better. I use the modmic and a pair of HE-500's with an O2ampdac. Beats any headset on the market.

At your budget I would get the Shure srh440+Shure srh840 pads+moov/mod mic ( depends on how much you care about your mic).

I've now had the HyperX Cloud for a couple of days, and i'm very happy with them.

I changed the pads from the leather, to the fabric ones, because i couldn't hear myself talk that well when i had the leather ones on. Which resulted in my raising my voice and getting slapped by my girlfriend :P

I have worn them for serverel hours, with very little discomfort, i have to readjust them once in a while.

Great audio for the price, i was really supriced!
