USB disconnects and reconnects constantly

kiicki

I have an Alienware M17x r3.
I always use a mouse on my laptop and have more than few times pulled the mouse when it has been in the USB. By mistake
The mouse disconnects all the time. I have also tried it with other mouses and it still happens, so the USB mouse is fine.
It's the USB in my laptop that is the problem. For some reason this happens to all my USB ports. The USB on the left side, and the USB on the right side.
When I take a USB in to a USB port it feels like the USB port is lower then it should be. Like the motherboard is lower than it should be. I just have to struggle a little bit to get the USB in.
Could it be that all my USB ports are broken, or do I just need to open up my laptop and place the motherboard back where it should be? is that even possible?
If the motherboard is llower know than it was before, maybe some screws are broken or something. I have no idea what to do, or if I have to get a new motherboard.

What do you guys think?

EDIT: it seems that the motherboard is higher then it should be, not lower.

You might have a connection problem or a Driver Problem, try reinstalling the Drivers

The same happens to USB 2.0

There's no drivers there.

Every one always says reinstall drivers.

Are you Sure there is nothing inside the port restricting it from getting full conectivity?

Then you're an exception.  Hardware drivers are rarely the issue.

Is the mouse wired or wireless? You could be experiencing connection problems if it is wireless.

The same happens with my external HDD. But with my E-ciggarete charger, it doesn't happen. It's weird.

Yes it's difficult to plug the USB in

There could be something pushed into the end of the port if there is, try to clean it out and see if the problem is fixed
